Designer To Watch: O'Bazzië Classics

One thing that I have always found exciting about being a blogger is discovering new brands and up and coming designers. A few weeks ago, while perusing a blogger community website, I came across the brand O'Bazzië. I had not yet heard of this brand but was intrigued and decided to do some research. What I found was extremely impressive and I was thrilled when they agreed to work with me for a "designer to watch" feature on mass.musings!

Still in it's early stages, O'Bazzië is a new designer with potential that is through the roof. O'Bazzië Classics was created and founded by Ebenezer Obasiolu, a West Africa native, after losing his beloved grandmother due to lack of financial support for her medical needs. The dedication and love that he had for his grandmother carried over into his education and adventures in America where he started out as an engineer: "I decided that never again would I lose a loved one because of financial misfortune," Ebenezer said, "Out of boredom in my engineering classes, I would randomly sketch satchels and briefcases on my paper. I had so many crazy designs… I guess my creative juices just flowed in my engineering classes!" From these simple sketches, a fully functioning company was born.

O'Bazzië's mission statement is simple, just like their bags: "Enhance simplicity. It’s our ultimate goal to enhance a unique experience and a display of unique personas while carving a signature for yourself, one O'Bazzië Satchel at a time. Yes, as simple as that." Essentially, Ebenezer set out to create a fantastic designer satchel that is both fashionable and versatile. In my opinion, he hit it right on the head. The sleek lines and perfect size of the "Classique Collection" appeal to both men and women and can be used across the seasons. With a sophomore line in the works, I'm beyond excited to see how far O'Bazzië will take their ideas.

Unfortunately, you can not order one of these amazing bags just yet, but pay attention because once they are available for purchase, I guarantee you will have a hard time getting your hands on one! In the meantime, visit their Facebook page and make sure to "like" it in order to stay up to date on ordering information and new products!

Just add Pumpkin Spice Latte

comfy cozy

It's that time of year! Pumpkin Spice Latte's are back in action! What better to add to a brisk Fall day at a sporting event or something like the Hunt than a Starbucks drink? It is also the 10 year anniversary of the PSL, so make sure you partake in the fun and drink up.

This outfit wasn't just inspired by the PSL but it certainly reminds me of the comfy/cozy feeling I get when I layer up and walk around admiring the changing leaves. I chose to pair forest green denim with a comfortable sweater that had some leather details. Recently I bought very similar items at my favorite Boston boutique (LIT) and have tan ankle booties that look amazing with them. To me, this is the epitome of effortless Fall fashion. Super easy to dress up or dress down and weather appropriate. Add simple gold based jewelry, a sleek tote bag and you're ready! Just make sure you bring your camera to capture all of those fall moments and colorful foliage.

If this doesn't make you happy...

... I don't know what will! Puppies, Fall, apples! I'm so ready to bust out my jeans and vests and flannels :) Happy Saturday!

ONLY red top, $22 / Madewell loose tank / Tommy Hilfiger jeans, $155 / J.Crew loafer / Tory Burch leather tote / SHOUROUK earrings, $560 / Shaun Leane hinged cuff bracelet / H&M brown belt, $12

Fall is officially here, regardless of if we want to believe it or not. So bust out the jeans and cardigans and start working on your layering game! I created this look as a final transition piece into the colder months by using bright colors to ease the sting of September. Taking a darker wash jean and pairing it with a cardigan that pops against the patterned tank, allows for a cohesive look and flattering silhouette for most body types (Tip: if you have a longer torso, go for a longer cardigan. Short torso, shorter cardigan, etc.). The combination of color, pattern, and texture, as well as the neutral belt and bag, makes me feel like I'm ready for Fall and hopefully you agree! xoxo

Tonight I was watching Easy A and this happened... oh the irony.
Soak It Up!

Hey everyone! Sadly, it's the last true weekend of summer. September and Labor Day are fast approaching and white pants are slowly crawling their way to the back of our closets. This weekend I plan on thoroughly enjoying my friends and family and new apartment (pictures soon!). So soak up the sun, party like it's 1999, and wear a smile all weekend! xoxo

dots 4

I'll be honest with you, I've never really been a fan of mixing and matching similar patterns. Stripes and flowers? Sure. But never have I ever been drawn to same patterns with different colors. However, I believe that there is always an exception to every rule. Thus, I give you my early Fall look, inspired by polka dots.

I chose to focus this outfit around these amazing Dolce & Gabana pants. I think that they're fun and just whimsical enough to make people smile (without looking tacky). By pairing these pants with a solid black shirt, I was able to balance out the look while also making the outfit seems more seasonally appropriate. Now for the risk... I picked these Oscar de la Renta polka dot shoes because of two things: 1) The classic lines and neutral colors make them perfect for Fall, and 2) Because the colors tie in with the white of the pants and the black of the shirt, the matching polka dot pattern isn't overwhelming. The actual dots are also similar enough in size that they eye isn't confused but instead sees the outfit as a more streamlined look.

I finished this look off with minimal jewelry: a simple statement necklace and small earrings do the trick (added the diamond ring because we all know diamonds are a girl's best friend). Make sure you have a great tote bag for weekend shopping and you're good to go!

What do you think about mixing patterns like this? Is this something you would try or is it a little too bold? I would love to know what you think! xoxo
